The random, organic pattern of a Favela in Medellin, Columbia. Also known as a slum, or in polite academic circles, an informal settlement.
Brain coral always reminds me of a psychotherapist friend who had a piece on a table in her consulting room. It always struck me as a witty commentary on what she did for a living, but when I mentioned it she claimed never to have thought of it like that… apparently she saw it as nothing more than a decoration.
